The Verdict
After about 20 years hunting for the Green River Killer the Task Force finally caught the killer because the advancements in the technology. The police caught him on November 30, 2001. He was finally caught because the advancements with DNA technology the police were able to match DNA found on some of the victims to samples that they got from Ridgway back in the late 80's. He was convicted of 49+ murders and was sentenced the death penalty at first but he made a plead that said that if he told the police where all of the victim's bodies were that he would get life in prison without the chance of parole, so he took the plead deal and the police have found all 49 bodies.

This case made the police look and think about the future cases in a different way, the police started to think like the criminal and tried to predict the killers next move before it even happened which if the police are will make it a little bit easier to catch him.
